Destination: Venice/Venezia, Italy

Venice or Venezia, ITALY.

(Like Paris)¬† I never thought I will visit this place.¬† I only see them in the movies and gushing what a beautiful place it is!¬† Only in my wildest dream I can see it, or so I thought… until a change of luck or fate in my life that I’m able to do all this traveling.¬† Thanks to GOD for all the blessings and/or blessing in disguises.

I’ve got the chance of having a day trip to Venice from Milan with my cousins (thanks to them) and my boy in tow.¬† I actually choose Turin/ Torino before because I like less crowd and less expenses as it will be less expensive than Venice and Florence I believe, but they told me it’s a must to see Venice and so we all go!¬† Here comes the whole day of walking and taking hundreds of photos of the sceneries and selfies and lot’s of CROWDS to do some photo bombing when taking your own photos.¬† I found some opportunities still to put into this blog for you all to enjoy.¬† But I must admit… Venice is not what I used to see in romantic movies old or new.¬† It’s a very hot sunny day and full of crowds. The water is filled with people on a boat ride (gondola) and unfortunately, the sea and it’s canals are not that clean anymore. I find their buildings and their architectures amazing though.¬† Beware of the expenses and try to save for your trip here so you can really enjoy touring and dining!

By Train from Milan¬† to S.Lucia¬† … this is the STOP and yes you see the crowds full of them everywhere so just get used to it especially in Summer.¬†

Make sure you don’t get lost in so many alleys!!¬† And see below photo to where is the public toilet (3rd photo chapel turn left, CR with pay).¬† Please enlarge the photos and to see the captions.¬† I like the similarities of their architecture in Milan and Turin… only differs with history.

I have so many photos but I can only put just a few here sorry!  I will leave you with a sweet glazed chocolates in different shapes and forms! Thanks for checking!

Destination: Turin/Torino, Italy

Now finally! I bring you again to Italy for the second time thru my blog.  If you want to check my older post last year about Italy please see one of this LINK1 & LINK2 or you can just go to category My DestinYations.  Obviously, I like Italy (particularly Milan as my base) so much that I keep coming back for the 3rd time and soon again to my 4th this coming Summer!

I better do this and finally finish some of my travel backlogs story.¬† Sorry for some people who are expecting this for quite some time now as I have promised I will do it as soon as possible but you probably know as well that we sometimes cannot just produce something if not in the mood, right?¬† though I have the materials (photography etc.) on my log book and laptop… still we need to be in the right mood to make it happen and publish it whenever we like and able to.¬† As I said before, sometimes life gets in the way.

I decided to make a short 2 days tour in Turin or Torino, Italy so I get to know more of a different City.¬† I find this place fascinating too, as I explore every alleys of the place by just walking around the area of where my hotel is … BEST WESTERN LUXOR.

These are the places I visited and you must have a map at least just so you know where you are if you get lost.¬† TIP: I always go to either 1-2 streets and explore it and come back the same way as I don’t want to get lost in so many alleys like the last time I was in Milan haha!¬† OR take a photo of the place where you get started, you never know, you may need it to show to people going back to your hotel, there you go!

  1. Egyptian Museum / Museo Egizio – A museum dedicated solely to Egyptian Art and Culture aside from Cairo Museum. To know more here is the link of the site.
  2. Chiese di San Carlo e Santa Cristina (Twin Churches) facing Piazza San Carlo.
  3. Piazza Carignano Рwhen you exit from Egyptian Museum.  Houses Museo Nationale del Risorgimento/ History Museum.

I came from Z√ľrich every time I go to MILAN, Italy so I use the SBB train as per this LINK.¬† It’s 4 hours by train and you will get to see a lot of beautiful sights within Switzerland going to the South of the border of Italy particularly in Milan as this is my base as I have relatives there. I promised myself I will visit some of those places I have seen while on the train.¬† I am sure you will do the same thing.¬† This part of the WORLD is such a beauty that you must explore and be adventurous!

Thanks for reading and checking my site.  FOLLOW ME thru my blog living a LIFE and to my TRAVEL adventures.

Milan: Duomo, Castle Cairoli & Beyond

Milan is known for being a shopping destination and all fashion enthusiasts know about this! See this LINK to read my earlier post about it… But there is more than just shopping in Milan. There are a lot of yummy foods around but I am not a food blogger so I cannot describe in an eloquent word¬†all the foods that I gulped, sorry. ¬†I am more excited about traveling! ¬†Yipppeee!! ūüôā

Duomo, Milan Italy, vinneve photo

First of all…let me remind you, it will be crowded especially if you go in the month of July and August like I did. ¬†But if you don’t mind the crowds and are looking for some SALE and good weather then you will come at the right time. ūüôā

Intricate details of Duomo. What is Duomo means? well according to my fave Wikipedia, it derives from the Latin word “Domus” means house or as a cathedral it means “house of God” or domus¬†Dei.¬†

Found some interesting places while walking around near the Duomo. ¬†All these streets and roads lead to a Park, Museum,¬†and some restaurants hiding behind some alleys. ¬†I even met a new friend that helped me find my way when I seem lost (perhaps it was written on my face how lost I was haha!). ¬†Well, at least there is somebody new to visit again next time around aside from my cousins. ¬†It pays to walk around I tell you. ūüėČ

Seek and you shall find…¬†

Castle Cairoli (Sforza Castle or Castello Sforzesco) some called it as it is near the Metro (Cairoli station). I have been here many times and everytime people can’t stop clicking their cameras. ¬†If you have a wild imagination you can imagine the life in the 14th Century! see below how it looks like before. ¬†Amazing isn’t it?

There’s a Park and I warn you that it may be a long walk. ¬†Be prepared and have your bottle of water, a towel if you like to work out your tan or simply walk and walk.

There are some more photos but I think it is better for you to see it yourself to really see the beauty of each building and places.  Now I leave you a quote, hope you like it.

Hope to see you next time reading my post about LOCARNO. ¬†For LUGANO see this LINK to read about it and another LINK here. ¬†Otherwise see below (scroll down)¬†“Related” topics for more post. ¬†I hope you enjoyed reading and thanks for your time!¬†
